Leavenworth marked the end challenging business trip to San Diego and couldn’t have been more welcome. The crowd on a route called “outer space” was so significant on that long weekend that Larry and myself rapped down and went and did a different route called “orbit”( v5.10) instead. A great route but the 26C temperatures and 12.5 hours of climbing and only one litre of water caused for a rather thirsty finish. The half liter of warm water we left in the car in the heat but split upon returning to the car, tasted better than any drink I’ve ever enjoyed before!
