Mt. Louis is an impressive limestone tower near Banff and has no easy way up or down. Its notorious for attracting lightening strikes so climbing in the right weather is imperative. Today’s forecast was rain and it rained off and on during the whole drive up but we decided to start the approach anyways and see if the weather improved. We left Calgary at 4:15am and were started just before 6am. The spire was spectacular climbing. The only negative part of the day was the ever looming cumulus clouds - threatening to storm we approached the crux of the climb. We reached the summit at noon and were back to the truck by 4:00pm.
